Why Chilliwack chooses
Excuse Me Hearing

  • Family-focused care from a team that actually cares. You'll see the same practitioner each visit, and they'll know your name and your hearing history without looking it up.

  • Honest advice and no-pressure consultations. If you don't need hearing aids yet, we'll tell you that. If a simpler option will do, we'll say so.

  • Affordable hearing aids without the big price tag. We're independent, so we're not working through a national pricing structure. That difference goes to you.

  • Modern technology, fitted properly. A good hearing aid badly fitted is worse than a modest one fitted well. We take the time.

  • Ongoing support for the life of your hearing aids. Cleanings, adjustments, troubleshooting — you don't pay for our time every time something needs tweaking.

Our Services

Free Hearing Evaluation

A full hearing evaluation, explained in plain language, with no obligation and no cost. You'll leave knowing exactly where your hearing sits and what your options are — including the option of doing nothing yet. Appointments usually run 30- 45 minutes.

High Quality Hearing Aids

Hearing Aids

We're proud Phonak specialists, and we fit across the range rather than steering everyone toward the top of it. You'll try before you commit, and we'll adjust as your hearing and your life change.

Hearing Aid Repair & Cleaning

Fast, reliable repairs and professional cleaning — including for hearing aids you bought somewhere else. Whistling, muffled sound, or a device that's stopped charging: bring it in.

Common Questions

Is the hearing test really free?

Yes. Our standard hearing evaluation is free, and there's no obligation to buy anything. Hearing tests done for employment or certification — RCMP, aviation and similar occupational medicals — are a separate paid service. Let us know which one you need when you book and we'll confirm the details with you.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book a hearing test directly with us in British Columbia — no doctor's referral required. If we find something we think a physician should look at, we'll tell you.

How long does an appointment take?

Plan on 30-45 minutes for a first visit. That covers the evaluation, going through your results, and answering your questions without rushing. Follow-up adjustments are usually much shorter.

Does MSP cover hearing aids?

For most adults in BC, MSP doesn't cover the cost of hearing aids — there are limited exceptions, including children under 19 and some people receiving income assistance. There are other funding routes worth checking, including Veterans Affairs Canada, the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, the Ministry of Social Development, and many extended health plans. We'll help you work out what applies to you.

What if I don't get on with my hearing aids?

Tell us. Most issues can be sorted with an adjustment, and we'd much rather you came back than put up with something that isn't working. Ask us about our trial terms before you commit — we'll go through them with you.

Serving Chilliwack and the eastern Fraser Valley

Our Chilliwack clinic is on Vedder Road, and we see people from right across the valley — Sardis, Vedder Crossing, Promontory, Rosedale, Yarrow and Greendale, along with Agassiz, Harrison and Hope from further east. If you're travelling in, tell us when you book and we'll try to group your appointments so one trip covers the visit and the follow-up.

Our head office is in Abbotsford at 2316 McCallum Road, but that's an office rather than a clinic — for hearing tests and fittings in the Fraser Valley, Chilliwack is where you'll want to come.
